Dr. Tamir Ofer

Deputy General Director

Dr. Ofer Tamir, born in 1956 in Haifa. Married + 5, lives in Givat Avni, Lower Galilee.

In 1980, Dr. Tamir graduated from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel-Aviv University. Dr. Tamir served in the IDF as an active physician, and also served in command and HQ positions. Amongst his functions - commander of the Medical Officers Course, Division Medical Officer, Medical Battalion Commander and as Medical Officer of the Field Corps Headquarters. Dr. Tamir is a graduate of the Command and HQ Course and of the Regiment Commander Course.

Dr. Tamir was discharged from the IDF in 1999, with the rank of Lieutenant-colonel.

In 1994, Dr. Tamir concluded his internship in general surgery at Poriya Hospital, and worked as a senior surgeon in the department.

As of 1997, Dr. Tamir has been serving as Deputy-Director of the Baruch Padeh Medical Center, Poriya. Dr. Tamir earned a Master of Health Administration's Degree from Leon Recanati Business School, Tel-Aviv University. He has been involved in projects overseen by the Jewish Agency's Aliyah Department focusing on encouraging the immigration into Israel of doctors from France and Latin America, and was also involved in a project by P2G, concerning Jewish-American communities.
